The Mood Meeps FAQ
I'm confused by all the rules!
It's best if you don't worry about remembering the rules for
how Meeps change moods - just jump right in and start playing.
The first levels are tutorials and they introduce you to the
game slowly. Even when you reach the more advanced levels, you
don't necessarily need to remember the rules - you can just
play by trial and error.
Why don't jealous or angry Meeps get lonely or scared?
When writing the game, I had to set some priorities for how
Meeps change moods. I decided to make jealous, angry etc more
resolute moods, so they are not affected by being left alone,
or next to evil Meeps.
What is meant by "Jealous Meeps can be moved every two moves", etc?
What this means is that you can only move a jealous Meep after
you've moved some other one. Then once you've moved it, you can't
move it again until you've moved something else. However, if you
don't move the jealous Meep straight away, you'll still be able
to move it (unless it changes mood). So, in any given two consecutive
moves, a jealous Meep can only be moved once. (And an angry Meep can
only be moved once in any three consecutive moves).
How can I stop Meeps going around and around?
It's possible to create circular paths with the magnets, and
then animation will just keep going. If this happens, click
Retry or Undo. If you're playing the full version of Mood Meeps,
you can also double click to place and remove magnets during
animation. (A useful trick!)
Why can't I always move Meeps into portals?
Make sure the destination portal isn't blocked, and the direction
arrow isn't against a magnetic field.
Is there a quicker way to place and remove magnets?
You might prefer to use the keyboard, or to double click with the
mouse. Read the info screens for how to do this. Also, in the full
version of Mood Meeps you can double click the status board to
remove all magnets from the playing field.
How do mood rings work?
Mood rings simply change a Meep's mood either towards neutral, or
towards evil. A jealous Meep that goes through a happy mood ring
will become neutral; if it goes through an unhappy mood ring it
will get angry. A neutral or scared Meep will become lonely if
moved through an unhappy mood ring.
I'm stuck!
Solutions for the first 15 levels (tutorials) are installed with
Mood Meeps - you can find a shortcut in the Mood Meeps group in
the Start menu. If you're stuck on a level after level 15, you can
always contact me for a hint... I might
be nice.
Can I print out the info screens?
Not from within Mood Meeps, but an HTML version was installed with
the game - you can find a shortcut in the Mood Meeps group in
the Start menu.
Can I make my own levels?
There are currently no plans to produce a commercial level
editor for Mood Meeps. If I get enough requests I may consider
it, but it is quite unlikely.
Why does black = evil?
Black has been used to represent evil throughout history. Just
look at movies - heroes in white and villians in black. There
are definitely no racist connotations intended in Mood Meeps!
I found a bug!
If you're sure you found something amiss, please email
contact me with the details.
Be sure to include which level you were on, what you were trying
to do, and how you got to that point. Please include a screenshot
if possible. (Press Alt+Printscreen)
